Big tip....people aren't likely to register an account when they can't read a forum as a guest, why waste their time on something that's likely to be crap for all they know.



Also people won't join if there's no content so make a few fake accounts, start some interesting (and fun) conversations between them and potential members may feel that it's worth joining in. It may seem a bit sad and sneaky, but it's a common tactic for new forums.

Well, if you have to advertise, do so on cheap sites. Like randomly spam on wordpress blogs (prefferably clubpenguin ones). That probably will only get you to blow off some steam. It would be best if you become a regular user on other sites, make friends there, and gradually get them to come to your forum. advertise on games websites, and join games discussions to promote your site.
