Will bandwidth over xbox live cause internet lag on a seperate computer?

We use Charter "high speed" (I think we all are victims of buying this so called high speed) 10 Mbps internet...fairly easy to play MW2 on pc. But I'm about to xbox live and my step dad is concerned that even being logged into xbox will slow his internet...I don't even think if I was to be hosting a MW2 match it would even have an effect. Apparently he's read in forums that xbox live consumes a lot of bandwidth constantly which I know it doesn't because it all varies on what you are doing. I just want to confirm that this is rightWill bandwidth over xbox live cause internet lag on a seperate computer?
If you're not using the computer it won't cause any lag on the Xbox360. It just won't because you're not using bandwidth from the internet connection. I often have 4 computers going from my sisters and only get a little lag so go from there. I have a ADSL account for broadband and the upload is slow but no bottlenecks if ever.Will bandwidth over xbox live cause internet lag on a seperate computer?
If it is just sitting there logged on doing nothing it will take nearly none, if you are playing a game it will take same as if you were on a computer. Yes, and it works the other way too.

Internet on computer = lag on X-box live.

Xbox Live works fine, but I can't find any games online?

My Xbox Live works fine. I've tested the connection to see if my NAT settings were on strict. There was no problems there. Connection was perfect. I've tried turning my modem off and on. I've got Gold membership. I've put in two games (F.E.A.R 2 and Left 4 Dead 2) and neither will find any games, only once on Left 4 Dead 2. But it wouldn't let me actually play. It froze in the load menu and when I went to look in the lobby again, there was none anymore.

I'm in Australia. And I've read on a few of the Australian forums on Xbox.com people are having problems like this with MW2. Is there anything I can do?Xbox Live works fine, but I can't find any games online?
Unfortunately I don't think there is any easy solution. The problem may be region specific. Ask for help at an electronics store in your area.

I think if you put pause,it should say picture mode somewhere or something and if it doesn't then I don't think it's possible.

ive been planning to get an xbox 360 soon but once i stumbled upon the 65nm chip info i decided to wait. now ppl on xbox forums are saying that onlye the halo3 edition comes with the new cpu. wut about the elites and premiums? if their lot no.'s are over 0734 would they have them? So whats up with the 65nm chip?
I did some research and couldn't find anything from legit sources that said that only the Halo 3 X-Box would get the new chip. I believe that any consoles manufactured in 2007 came with the new chip and that only the 2006 models were affected. However, if you're really going to buy one, check out the box as it should say what chip it has in it.
The chip is NOT out yet for any system. Microsoft is waiting until all of the old consoles are purchased before they start on the new chip. The 65nm chip wont be out until at least December.So whats up with the 65nm chip?
I think that the reason the halo 3 xbox 360s are "known" for having the falcon chipset is because they've been brought in newer than the other consoles. It's not that lots 0735+ for premium and elites don't have them, it's just that they haven't been seen in stores yet. I'm sure that the falcon chipset was implemented into the elites and premiums the same time as the Halo 3 Special Edition was, late lot 0734 (Manufacturing date August 24th or later). The problem is that the old ones without the falcon chipset aren't being sold fast enough to get the new ones in quickly enough. I hope this answered your question!

If you can successfully get your defender in the air with the pump fake, you must direct your player towards that defender using the Left Stick, and use the Right Stick(or X button) to shoot. That will then start an animation that draws the foul.

The towel trick is for the Red Ring of Death, not the E73. E73 is an ethernet port problem. Best thing to do is call MS to get it fixed. Anything you find on the net is only a temporary fix, and more often than not, it will do more damage to your 360.How to fix Xbox 360 E73 error?

I have tried Zune, TVersity, VME and WM11. WM11 is the only one that sees the xbox and lets me configure it to share, but when I try to access it from my xbox it says 'Cant Find Any Computers Running Media Sharing Software.....'. Hardware problem with XBOX 360?

I asked this question in the XBOX forum - probably the wrong place. My XBOX 360 began to freeze up while in the middle of a game. Then, it took no time at all - I could just put the DVD in, and it would freeze up. I first thought that it was a heat problem. I put the console in a more ventilated area - no good. I then took it apart, and washed the cheap thermal paste from the CPU and GPU and replace with higher grade paste - no good. I then starting reading more of how Microsoft used a few manufacturers of DVD ROMs, and that one company was not up to par. Has anyone heard of this? Has anyone had a similar problem? And yes, I am getting the red ring of death (3 of 4 lights - denoting a hardware problem).Hardware problem with XBOX 360?
you need to keep the ac adapted ventilated not just the xbox itself. when the adapted get too hot it decreases the amount of energy the xbox gets and it gives you the hardware error. everytime i get the ring of death is cos low power levels. althougt i get the casual game freeze too but not a game freez with the red ring.Hardware problem with XBOX 360?

XBox 360 N Networking Adapter Problem?

Bought a 360 N Networking Adapter off ebay, new not used, few days ago and i got it in today.

whenever I try to hook it up it always gives me a red light, I've tried just about everything there is but opening it up and all that but I won't do that for obvious reasons i'd probaly ruin it beyond helping it.

I've youtube'd it, Google'd, Yahoo'd, XBox forum'd, XBox Problem data base'd, all that and nothing has worked. Reset the adapter, updated the driver, reset modem, updated modem settings, updated wireless settings, updated MAC address, manual set in ip settings and such, all that was done and it's still red with no hope. Do I need to send it in or something cause I have a warranty with it and I don't seem to see any way of fixing this, unless theres a super ninja way of the xbox rage team to make adapters not workXBox 360 N Networking Adapter Problem?
A red light means that the unit is powered on fine but cannot locate any wireless networks.

First, are you sure that your router/modem has the wireless feature turned on and is broadcasting?

If so, then the unit is probably defective and I would pursue an exchange or refund from the seller.

Xbox 360 Warranty. Dead confusing, DEFINATELY NEED HELP!?

OK. Had my console for 10 months. I thought it scratched a disc (I'm very careful with my discs) now that game doesn't work. So I sent it into repair by Microsoft Support as precaution.

I thought well it's all good because the warranty isn't up for 3 years. But I think I'm wrong. (After 10 months it has about 26 left)

Apparently the Xbox 360 3 year warranty ONLY covers the console for the RED RING OF DEATH. So anythin like drive problems aren't covered!

After seeing numerous consoles going into repair and coming back worse -- because the repair quality is worse than the build quality -- I fear when my console returns after it's repair for scratching discs, It'll get other problems or even similar problems and it won't be covered!

On the Xbox forum alot of people say that when they have sent their Xbox away, it comes back an dies again, and again, because the repairs suck.

So in 3 months when my proper cover is up, MS will literally break my 360, an only cover the RROD.

First off, did you move the 360 when the game disk was spinning inside? If you did, then that's your fault, not the 360's fault. There's a page in the manual that specifically tells you not to move the 360 when there is a disk spinning inside. If you're worried about your games getting scratched, use a skin protector.

People are only complaining about the ring of death, not the other parts. Most people said that they've had to return their 360 several times because of the ring of death, not the other stuff. Most people generally have very low upload speeds- perhaps not quite that low but you should find that you're fine with that speed- there isn't that much to upload in terms of data on xbox live to my knowledge :)

Your best bet is to give it a miss unless you have 2meg or higher as you will have lagging problems, and cause others you are playing with to lag as well.Will xbox live work with these broadband speeds?
That should be fine, I used to play fine on my old 2 meg connection and the download speeds were about 210kbps, so I don't see there being any problems, although the upload is a bit lower than usual as has been said.

Problem with my xbox 360?

I'm having a problem with my xbox 360 with an extra controller being signed in (On the xbox itself, the first player and second player lights are signed in). I first had this problem on Netflix, I was watching Prison Break Season 2. My controller idled and turned off, the episode ended and I turned my controller back on to start a new show but I noticed the controller had the second part of the ring lit up. I accidentally left my xbox on all last night, so I turned on my controller and I had somehow been disconnected from xbox live and my controller was signed in as the second player. So I turned it off and restarted it. Now I'm finally in the first player spot, but my xbox still shows that there are two controllers turned on and registered to my xbox.

My brother and I only have 3 controllers and they're all right by me, with my controller being the only one that is actually on. Oh yeah, and everybody else is asleep so nobody could just be messing with me. Now, this probably isn't the best place to find answers for this (my questions in the past couple of months haven't been being answered), so I will also be posting this on the xbox forum.Problem with my xbox 360?

Sounds like the RF module that connect to the controllers is screwing up. If this happened after an update then you could ask Microsoft about it but worse comes to worse you would have to buy and install a new RF module. source #1 has good directions for doing so but as for buying one, they can be as cheap as $5. But before you do any of that test all your controllers and make sure its the Xbox and not just one of the controllers.

Ok, so a week ago I got suspended for like a day and i decided to just take the punishment. however, today when i logged on to shoot people in the virtual world, I received a message saying i was suspended for another full week. after the first suspension CODE OF CONDUCT was written in all my personal info things. I play Soul Calibur 4 just about every day and try to squeeze in a match or two between classes and work. After work and during my longer lunch breaks I play it, and I always see the same gamertags. I've been doing some online searching about Soul Calibur 4 on xbox live forums and I keep hearing about this guy named leofire who is supposed to be extremely good with Taki, but I have never ever seen his name come up since the day of the release of this game. Also, I'm in the facebook group "Soul Calibur 4 online community" and a lot of members list their gamertags and I have never ever seen them before. PlayStation 3 vs. Xbox 360 - Where can i find the most accurate information?

Where can i find the most accurate information (Websites, articles, forums) regarding:

1. Technical specifications?

2. Which product can produce the best graphics, game play, frame rates and highest TV resolution? (For multi-platform and exclusives games)

3. Which console has the greatest potential which eventually will turn into performance?|||Before I answer any of those questions. If you look at the statistics sheets of performance, the PS3 will ALWAYS look better on paper.

Answer to #1: Just know that each system does things in different ways to achieve almost the same performance, with one system being slightly more powerful than the other.

Answer to #2: Graphics, well each system can produce VERY good graphics. No system is better than the other at graphics... The 360 has better lighting and shading rendering that the PS3. The PS3 can produce better texture and texture detail. Game play, that goes to the PS3 - BUT only if the developers want to take the time and program for the PS3. The PS3 is extemely difficult to program for. The BluRay discs allow for more data to be stored and the PS3's main RAM, although only 256MB, runs at 3.2GHz (less, much much faster). Frame rates, I have no clue, I think the 360 has that area. Highest TV resolution, the PS3 obviously. A lot of the PS3 games are made in 720p - even some have come out in 1080p. Since the PS3 is a BluRay player, it can take thoses high definition sources and display them at such.

Answer to #3: The greatest potential ^_^, the PS3. As I said earlier, if game developers actually want to take time to program for that difficult cell processor and learn how to use the PS3's super fast main RAM, then the PS3 is capable of so much more. The fact that it can store up to 50GB on one discs helps as well.

It comes with a built in blu-ray player, which is nice if you love the super hi-def resolution for movies. Why it's actually important is because the ps3 games come in blu-ray format. 360 games come in DVD format. Blu-ray disks have 25 GB memory (single layered), where as DVDs have only 5 GB memory (single layered). This means that PS3 games not only have better graphics (though it's not really showing right now, I'll talk about that later), they also have more space to put game information. If you read a magazine article vs a novel like Harry Potter, which will give you more information? Which will take longer to read? Blu-ray is like the novel. It allows for a deeper, longer, and better game. Right now this may not seem like a big deal because 360 games are just fine. But in the future, this will matter. The DVD format will cripple the 360 when game developers are trying to put so much into a game, and there isn't enough room. This will leave the PS3 with a much better gaming experience. Remember, this is more of a reason for the future. Blu-ray will last and DVD won't. Now, 360 owners may say "Well, you can buy a HD DVD player for the 360, which is just as good." It actually isn't. It costs $200, and it only plays HD DVD movies. The games are still DVD.

There are some more technical feats of the PS3. It has built in wi-fi (wireless internet) to play online. For me, this was a must have; I wasn't prepared to send a 40 ft cable through the house to connect to the internet or buy a $50+ modem. The 360 does offer a wi-fi accessory, only it costs $100. Kinda pricey. Then there's controllers. Both cost $50 for the wireless version (must have). I personally like the 360 controllers a lot, and the different colors are a nice option. But they don't come with rechargeable batteries. You have to buy them separate. Oh ya, and you have to buy a recharger to recharge the rechargeable batteries. For $50, you can get one charger and 3 batteries. PS3 costs, wait, it's free. PS3 controllers come with built in rechargeable batteries, and you can use either the usb-mini usb cord included with the system or just plug one up that you find around the house. I happened to find 2 in my office without even looking hard. So yes, the 360 controllers are nice but will add to the building expense. Also, PS3 offers system software updates for free over the internet every once in a while. This allows it to stay freshly updated and for Sony to continue to add on better things to the PS3. I don't think the 360 has software updates at all, so it can't be "renewed" like the PS3 can.

In my opinion, the PS3's XcrossMediaBar is better than the 360's Dashboard (the home page of each system where you access music, games, etc.). Don't get me wrong, the Dashboard isn't bad, but the XcrossMediaBar is very easy to use. You can also change the background to any picture saved to anything connected to the PS3. And now with the new update, you can give it a theme, which are free on the Playstation Store, and look pretty good. It basically gives you a new background and changes the text to something similar to the background (the nature theme, for example, turns the text into what looks like frosty snowflake letters). The PS3 offers a internet browser, allowing you to go to any website you want and make a list of favorites by simply touching the select button. The 360 doesn't have an internet browser of any kind. Just a nice add on for the PS3. Also, the PS3 has a thing called Playstation Home coming out in the spring, which will be really cool. Basically, you make an avatar that is "you" in this cyber world, and get an apartment to decorate. You can go into this online world and talk to people, hang out, play arcade games like pool and chess, and watch movies. Sony intends for companies like Coke to make their own lounges, where players can go and have fun with different games and shows playing. Also, it introduces the achievement system, which the 360 has now and the PS3 lacks. It allows you to show off your achievements in the form of things like trophys that you've accomplished in different games. I never thought it was a big deal, but a lot of people do. I recommend searching it on google, it's really neat.

The online capability is another major buying factor. I won't lie, XBox Live is better than Playstation Network. Though I don't know much about XBox Live, never having used it, this is what I've gathered. It's easy to use, you can make friends lists, send messages (even during games), and there's a good matchmaking system to play with your friends. There's also arcade games that you can download, and I believe there are more available now for 360 then PS3 (for now anyway). Very good, but with a price. XBox Live is $50 a year. Many say it's worth it, but I can't testify either way seeing as I haven't used it. Playstation Network is PS3's online system. It is free, which is quite nice. You can also make a friends list and send messages, but not during gameplay (I think). I'm also not sure about the matchmaking, whether it exists or if it's good or bad. The Playstation Store is growing rapidly, and more game demos, trailers, add on content, and arcade games are becoming available (the demos and trailers are free, the arcade games and add on content usually cost you something). I think the 360 has demos, trailers, and add on content available also, but I'm not sure of that. Also, tons of people have 360's, and not as many have PS3's. I'm happy with Playstation Network, it's not horrible and there are plenty of people to play online, just not as many. So basically; XBox Live-excellent but $50 per year, Playstation Network-not as good but fine, free.

As far as graphics go for the two systems, right now they are relatively equal. I think that will be changing quite soon. The 360 has been out over a year longer than the PS3, giving the developers time to get used to the system. PS3 on the other hand is relatively new compared to the 360. If you've noticed, the PS3's first generation of games graphically are just as good as the 360's second generation of games. The PS3 would stay equal at one generation behind 360, but there's another factor to throw in. The 360 is almost at it's full capacity right now. Sure, it's games look good, but remember they're in DVD format. And the PS3 has blu-ray to combat that, on top of it's huge potential not being tapped fully at the time due to the short amount of time it's been out . So, the 360 will hit a wall soon and the PS3 will surpass it by quite a bit.

As far as failure ratings, the 360 wins that category. Currently, one third of XBox 360s are breaking and being sent in for repair, most commonly for the "Red Rings of Death." I know people who have had a hole the size of a quarter burned through the middle of their Halo game. Tell me that wouldn't suck. 360's also overheat and start smoking, which might cause some issues. To cope with this, Microsoft offers a 3 year warranty, so you can get it fixed for free, you just won't get to play for a few months and have to go through the hassle. PS3 failure ratings are at about 3%. They don't overheat often due to their nice cooling system. They're also quiet when they run. 360s on the other hand are LOUD. If you have the sound cranked up to full, you may not here it. If not, it's quite annoying.

Backwards compatibility is one of the last issues. The 40GB PS3 doesn't offer it, but the 80GB version does. And if I remember correctly, the PS2 dominated the last generation market. I still like playing many of those games, so PS3 was the way to go. The 360 does offer backwards compatibility, but not with all of their games. And there aren't as many XBox games to choose from. Price used to be an issue, but not anymore. The 40GB PS3 is only $400, only $50 more than the 360 core (at $350). The 80GB is $500, but worth it for the backwards compatibility in my opinion. And in my opinion, the extra $50 or $150 is worth the PS3.

Finally, the big daddy of them all; games. Now, 360 owners bash PS3 every chance they get, saying things like "The graphics are better" (which they aren't) and "There's funner and better games on the 360" and "PS3 doesn't have any good games". These are lies. Almost all of the next great games are available for both consoles, including GTA 4, Guitar Hero 3, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, Madden, NBA Live, Army of Two, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, Timeshift, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Unreal Tournament 3, and Devil May Cry 4. As far as exclusives, 360 has a few great ones, but only a few. And their "exclusives" aren't really exclusives, as you'll find below. If you're anything like me, you know that Halo 3 is amazing, almost got me to buy a 360 actually. There's also Bioshock, Mass Effect, Gears of War, and Crackdown. That's all I can think of that are actually good. But there is a remedy for the lack of some of those games for PS3. If you have a Vista computer, you can buy Halo 2 for Vista, Gears of War for Vista, Bioshock for Vista, and other "Games for Vista" as they're called. Then you buy a 360 wireless controller, a gaming receiver for your wireless 360 controller, which is only $12 (a little receiver that plugs into a USB port on your computer and lets you use the 360 controller for your Vista games), and you're set. And while Vista games offer Windows Live Gold and Silver for the same price as 360, the silver edition offers online play for free. The gold only allows you to play cross platform with 360 owners if the game is capable, which most aren't. So, if you have a microsoft computer, the "exlusives" for the 360 lose their exclusivity. PS3 has many good exclusives, no matter what anyone says. Warhawk is amazing, a must have online multiplayer only shooter game. Then there's Ratchet and Clank Future, Gran Tourismo 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Haze, Heavenly Sword, Final Fantasy XIII, Littlebigplanet, Afrika, Killzone 2, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, White Night Story, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and of course Resistance: Fall of Man. That looks like a good game line up to me, and it'll only get better as developers tap into the vast potential of the PS3. I think Haze and Unreal Tournament 3 will kind of combat Halo 3 for online shooters, though they won't be exactly the same. Don't get me wrong, the 360 is a great system with some good points, but I think the PS3 is worth is for an extra $50. Happy buying!|||This is my cut and paste answer. The reason for that is because a tech info is a tech info, you can't beat it (sources below).

PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, isn't even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements. Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs (Rockstar complained about this issue). Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.

Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:

1). A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%. Despite some people say, that new 360 has no breakdown issues - just visit Xbox section of Yahoo answers and see for yourself an amount of complaints.

2). PS3 has 8 (7+1) kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3.

3). PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). It's possible to get HD-DVD (max. - 30GB) for 360, but it'll cost you around 180$, in this case Xbox is going to be MUCH more expensive, than PS3.

4). Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second

Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second

5). PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in 4 slots card reader (except 20GB and 40GB versions), ability to use printer and so on.

Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.

6). PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers

Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers

7). PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)

Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $

8). Graphics are stronger in PS3, due to RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. RSX runs on 550 Mhz. It's difficult to compare their graphics chips, because 360 has a video chip with totally different structure and operating memory is divided differently in both consoles. However, PS3 exclusives look better than 360's exclusives.

9). PS3 uses technology from AGEIA company. It does to physics of the game same thing GPU (videocard processor) does to graphics. This thing is on sale for PC(special card). The price is around 350$. There is no such thing in 360.

10). Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 15 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it. That's why in some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".

11). Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).

When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.

13). PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.

14). There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.

15). The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console. Biggest games weigh only 25 GB (Xbox 360 will need more than 3 discs even for those).

16). On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.

17). PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 250 GB will cost you around 170$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.

18).Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. There is a cheaper 40GB version of PS3.

19).Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.

20). PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control - you move controller - game responds. Wii has it, Xbox 360 - doesn't. PS3 is getting rumble controller (Dualshock 3) in 1st quarter 2008, Japan already has it. On www.ebay.com I saw those controllers on sale 50$ and up (unofficial import)

21).On PS3 you can help sick people by running Folding Home project. Wii and Xbox 360 didn't even think about it.

22).New 40GB is 399$ or 399 euro (depends on the region) - it has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, has 2 USBs instead of 4, no built-in card reader, but it's the same PS3, strong, reliable, less noisy, different cooling system. The price is friendly.

I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to talk about it. Leave it for kindergarten and casual games.

For the most part I believe it's due to the fact most people consider themselves above the grade, elitists if you will that will try to find other peoples mistakes to make them feel a little more important. Honestly, if you want to get your opinion out there and taken seriously its incumbent upon you to present it in a way that shows you have more than three active brain cells.

An argument set forth with proper grammar and at least an attempt at spelling will go over better than the same argument with internet short hand spread through it.

Do I need to re-buy a Xbox originals game when I transfer it to my new Xbox 360?

I got a new Xbox 360, and am about to transfer content from my old console to the new one. I had an old profile and bought a bunch of games with it, but deleted it a while back and started a new one. I know that I won't be able to play those games on the new console unless I buy them again, but is it the same for Original Xbox games that I downloaded? You can't be signed into Live when you play them, so I thought it might be different. If I were to, say, buy San Andreas again, would all my saves be still there, and the only difference would be I had bought it under my profile? You will need to either re-buy them under the new profile or recover the profile you did buy them with and re-download them at no extra cost. You will also need to transfer your licenses so the other profiles on your 360 can play the games too.

I looked on Google, went to all the popular Xbox support forums, but got no answers. No I am not buying anything so please don't suggest any product purchase.

I want to use my PC headset for my Xbox 360 which it sort of works. I can hear through the headset fine since it's plugged into my TV, but the mic is a problem.

I have a microphone jack adapter (1/8" to 3/32"), and it fits into the control. The problem is, I still can't use my mic! My headset mic is perfectly fine, the adapter works like a charm (tested it on other hardware). I dismantled the official Xbox 360 headset to see if the two plastic things that go into your control had to do with something. Apparently it doesn't. Btw the mic switch is on.

You will have to strip the wires and re-wire!

Your PC headphones not the same as the Xbox headset which incorporates a mic. You will have to rewire your mic and headset to your Xbox connector rather than use adapters that are not Xbox compliant.

Xbox does not support HD graphics. The only thing you would gain is a slightly faster transfer rate and if you're using good quality component cables, that difference is not much.

Im planning on buying the old one since it saves more money I read somewhere on a forum that the old one you have to connect into the wall does anybody know what he means? Does he mean connect the power chord or connect it to an ethernet im not sure.

all xbox 360's are able to use the USB WiFi adapter. The xbox wireless adapter is a VERY good wifi device usually you will not get any lag but i depends on the router and what WiFi channel you are on either A, B or G.

Yes on the Search and Destroy, but also in core Team Deathmatch because thats where most noobs play and they complain about everything. But Search and Destroy is the best one because if you get killed, you dont respawn. So you'll have people complaining big time about the way that they died. Sometimes Domination gets it too because people camp the flags really hard and rushing people like me dont like that. Hope this helps.

You should already be banned. Microsoft bans all consoles from xbox live that are modded. It's a fact. They won't break your console if you try and get the update, it'll just ban you and your gamertag and such off xbox live. I use to own a 360 and my friend told me I should get it modded. But I thought, "why have 100 games, when you can't even play 1 game online?" Never got it modded. Just sold it for a PS3 because all I really do is watch Blu Rays.

Ive had 2 go down. When theres a problem usually overheating, the ring around the power button with either turn all red or 3/4th red
well it happens wen something bad enough occurs in the 360 to prevent it from working right. its supposed to come up very often and it requires 360 tech help. supposed to be pain in the @ss.
when three of the power ring segment lite up red. it means that your 360 has over heated and needs to be sent in for repair.
Well, I've gotten the ring on several occasions, but all I have had to do is restart my system (I don't think the tech guys at Microsoft(TM) know what it means). I guess if all the rings flash, it is just overheat (I would only get this on one on Fable(TM), after i had played it for 4 hours that one day, or when I was playing BfME 2 with custom music on and that still took a while). Any who, it has never been fatal for me, but it can be, so if your Xbox 360 does not work after the ring, give Mr Gates a call and get it fixed.
The red ring of death means something is wrong with your system. You can't play. I've had it happen to me twice. Not even plugging the cords all the way will set it off. Also anything like a system breakdown will give u the red ring.

Ok so microsft had used faulty soldering and the heat from the system being on friend the soldering that had done too the system, rendering your system "a piece of crap". Yea so it happens when the heat from the xbox 360 fries the sodering ms used.

Err i heard of the towel trick working. Ex takeing 2 beach towels and cocuning your system in them for 15 while your system is on.(no idea how this works). The smart thing too do would be too send ur system too microsoft and have them send u a replacement system.

Is it worth it? I was offered the square trade warranty for my used xbox 360 i just bought from ebay. (from user best-buy-outlet). it got it for about $280 and the plan for a year is about $33. Since you got it from eBay, I would buy the warranty because you don't know how the previous owner treated the 360. He could have abused it, or he could have done a great job taking care of it. You really don't know. You also have to consider the possibility that he could have returned it to MS to fix the ring of death.

I got it and I thought it was worth it, the 360 is a very unreliable machine and many of my friends are on their 3rd or more of them. Their customer service is very helpful and I was very happy with the warranty.

I got banned from xbox live communication 2 days ago because I got mad at microsoft because I couldn't find out why I was banned for 1 week. Yes, you can connect it to your PC, but you will have to have the wireless receiver if you're using a wireless guitar. Otherwise, there is nothing to "receive" the signal. The posts on the forums you read were probably talking about using the wired guitar controller. Yes, put simply.

Initially it was because the cooler was powered by the Xbox 360's own power supply, putting more stress on the console, thus creating more heat, which the cooler just blew back inside the console.

they SAY its been improved, and that the cooler now runs off of its own power supply, but if anything, it probably still blows hot air back into the console, so my advice to you is yes, the console gets hot, its powering a 3.2 triple core processor (a total of 9.6 gHz). A free Arcade game is not much if you can't choose which one!

I've dropped 4 levels on Halo 3 because it kicked me out of the game 5 times in a row just before it starts, it says I'm the only one left in the game but the server doesn't reflect this and my Rep has had lots of feedback saying I quit early when I don't. Ed Boon does not know when the demo will come out, nor does he have any control of when the demo will come out.

Random people on the internet have guessed at Today (which is wrong or it would have been out 2 hours ago.) Other random people have guessed April 5th.

Simple fact, as sucky as it is, is that NO ONE knows at this point. There's no guarantee the demo will be available before the game's release. Sony paid for timed exclusive, once that time has passed, then Microsoft can put it up. But at this point no official answer has been given.
Anytime upto 19th of April, either mk developers are beings d***s favoring the ps3 giving them the demo like 3 weeks ago while leaving the xbox release date still TBA up to this very day also giving them an exclusive character while we get nothing, or its microsoft the ones that are being the k*nts not releasing it after we pay 50 pound a year of our hard earned kash for xbox live, this is the privilege we get over ps3's free network? My guess is the latter as Ed Boon klaims he has no kontrol over the release date. Its really p***ing me off because the trailers look amazing and I have the game pre-ordered and dont know whether to go through with it or to kancel.When exactly does the Mortal Kombat 9 demo release for Xbox 360?
I will tell u this: from now till the 19th of April. if they are not stupid they will have at least a week earlier so you can say the 12th but i had payed the dead space 2 demo nearly two months before release and this is getting rediculus if Sony paid more to MK why cant microsoft due the same thing they get money from us each year dammit(idk how PS3+ membership works though) i blame microsoft they could have easily got the exclusive and out paid Sony but no Microsoft barely cares about thier fans.

I've heard it was tomorrow, and then I read that Ed Boon himself said it will come out April 5 (in a video). but I have not found of him said it will be out the 5th. either way the game is just around the corner I cant wait to play.... ps. MK 9's release date for the xbox 360 console is April 19th, 2011. No news so far on demo, i would imagine the demo would come out first week of april.
It is supposed to release tomorrow, if I remember correctly. Hope that helps. Happy gaming.

Its because PS3 is finally starting to move. The good games are coming out for the PS3 and there is finally a reason to buy one (besides blu-ray and a host of other things) 360 had all of that from the start, so people want to see something different. Hardware: The PS3 has a CPU known as the Cell Broadband engine. It has 8 cores that run at 3.2GHz each. 6 are used for your games, 1 dedicated to the OS and Security, and the 8th isn't used. The xbox360 uses a Triple Core CPU which is like your computers CPU. They run at 3.2GHz each. Which means, the PS# has seven cores, while the 360 has only 3, meaning the PS3 is twice as powerful as the 360.

Graphics Processing Unit: The PS3 uses a GPU known as the Reality Synthesizer. It processes at 550MHz, has 256 Ram that runs at 1.3GHz. This RAM is dedicated to the GPU. The 360 uses a GPU known as a Xenos. It runs at 500Mhz, has 512mb of RAM, but this is also shared with the CPU, so you'll never use over 400mb. This RAM runs at 800MHz for the entire system. We don't entirely know the capacity of the 360's Xenos chip. So i'd give them both thumbs up there.

The looks of the consoles: Theres no saying the PS3 looks bad, thoughh the fingerprints show easily on the black finish. The 360, not too big, but not very good looking. Why do I say this? The 360 has a huge brick like power supply, while the PS3 has just a cord.

The disks: The PS3 uses a format called Blu-Ray ROM. It uses a blue laser to read instead of a red. These disks can hold up to 50GB on one disk. It reads a lot faster then the 360. The 360 uses an old format disk called DVD-ROM. These disks can hold up to 15GB. No where near the amount of space the PS# has to use. A new game called IV has been made small because of the 360 disk. The City is smaller and the amount of content is small, thanks to the 360.

PS3-Light controller, 360-Heavy controller. Ps3-Heaps of backwards compatibility, 360-Little backward compatibility. PS3-Silent fan, 360-Loud fan. Ps3-up to 750GB Hard drive, 360-up to 120gb Hard drive. PS3-No heating problems, 360-heating problems. PS3-Internal power supply, 360-huge external brick power supply.

Games: Since the 360 has been out 16 months longer, it has more games on the market. The PS3 has over 224 games incoming or already out. The best exclusive of these are Afrika, Playstation Home, Little big planet, Metal Gear SOlid 4, God of War. The 360 has games like Gears of war, Halo, and Lost Planet. Both of the systems have good exclusive games.

There's your answer. It has always been a better console.
PS3 hounds want to feel secure by saying lies about other systems. The truth is the XBOX 360 is in second place followed by the PS3 in LAST PLACE........

Sounds very weird maybe ask the police about this they will know if it genuine or is its been stolen or something so your best bet would be go to the police to be safe.
