Ps3 has the most potential and is now showing the better graphics. The xbox 360 will have to be redesigned to use better game discs formats like blueray or hddvd and it is rumored to be undergoing such a redesign third party to be announced in jan.

i have played the both of them when my cousin's came over for thanksgiving. xbox 360 is better. 360 have halo 3 and lots of exclusive games and ps3 doesn't. xbbox 360 also has better resolution and graphics. 360 all the way.

Personally, I think you can get the best information from the people at computer stores like Circuit City. Some people there, all they know is console info. They'll tell you what they like, and what they don't like. It's probably the best way to go.
