What does Microsoft plan to do about the Xbox 360's HD DVD player?

I figure all the PS3 forums must be loving the fact that HD DVD is, for the most part, a dying breed. I can hear it now, "XBOX COPIES PS3!!!1" I can't stand that... but does anyone have any information on whether or not Microsoft is going to put out a Blu-Ray player? What does Microsoft plan to do about the Xbox 360's HD DVD player?

Xbox 360 Blu-Ray Add-on Expected

The format war is finally over, and Blu-ray has triumphed over the HD-DVD format. But what happens to all of those HD-DVD early adopters?

From the looks of Microsoft, one of the earliest adopters of HD-DVD, it's just time to move on. Rumors are already circulating about Microsoft is planning a Blu-ray add-on for its Xbox 360 console similar to the HD-DVD add-on that is already available.

UPDATE: Microsoft makes a statement in regards to HD DVD.

This rumor isn't new, but with recent headlines proclaiming the imminent demise of HD-DVD speculation has grown louder. As early as 2006 former Microsoft corporate Vice President Peter Moore commented that Microsoft would remain open to the idea of the Blu-ray format, saying "We don't know which will win -- HD-DVD or Blu-ray. But because we've gone with an external form of device, we can remain compatible with changes to the situation in the future."

Rumors say that Microsoft could have the Xbox 360 Blu-ray drive ready as early as this May. Just like the HD-DVD add-on though, the supposed Blu-ray drive would only be used for movies, meaning no Xbox 360 games would start appearing on Blu-ray discs. Keep in mind that these are only rumors at this point, but giving Microsoft's history, it is very likely to be true.
As of this week Toshiba has declared that it will stop production of HD DVD players and HD DVDs altogether.
Also, Sony is said to be selling the factory in Japan making the Cell chips they use in their Blu-ray players and the PS3 to Toshiba.
As for the HD DVD add-on to the 360, Microsoft has pulled the plug on its production also.
There have been some buzz about the 360 getting a Blu-ray add-on but nothing has been officially announced.
Though you might actually see "Xbox copies PS3!!!" soon, it is just the practical move for M$ to do.
The format they supported lost and they do not have a choice other than to follow the trend and make Blu-ray add-ons for their console or lose out on more consumers. What does Microsoft plan to do about the Xbox 360's HD DVD player?
This is a year old news now. Microsoft does not have any plans as of now to do Blu-ray. If they do it wouldn't come out until the next xbox 360.

I could see Microsoft buying the HD DVD format, not for Videos but to make games in. Nothing has been talked about yet.
Microsoft has decided to sell off the remaining HD-DVD attachments in clearance. There still hasn't been any announcement about use of Blu-Ray instead. What does Microsoft plan to do about the Xbox 360's HD DVD player?
I sold mine for $20 at a pawn shop without the remote control.
Microsoft has said that they don't plan on doing anything with Blu-Ray. Their focus is on streaming and downlloads to get HD content to a 360.
This can't be a serious question...

It's more than a dieing breed...it's very much DEAD. Why would M$ do anything with it? It's discontinued...
