Can a cable connection be a cause of low MTU connection for xbox live?

I have been doing a little research on the issue of low MTU. According to these forums and directions, they all point to the fault of the router or modem. However, my question is, is it possible that the result of low MTU also be a cause of a bad connection, such as of the cable line? Your help can be very beneficial for me. There is a possibility if the cable is of low grade quality (cat3 aka telephone wire), but i doubt you have a cat3 connection. You most likely have cat5e or 6.



Addressing the connection issue. any bad connection(poorly terminated/crimped cable break in the line) would give you constant disconnection or no connection between your router and xbox which would make the MTU the least of your problems.



Any issues with MTU can be fixed by configuring the router.
