I was thinking of buying an xbox but i read a forum which said that game developers are saying that xbox has reached its maximum potential and there will be no graphical enhancement in it,what should i do?Has the xbox 360 become outdated or obsolete?
I just bought one myself, so I sure hope ti doesnt. I just got the Kinetic, which is new and I imagine there will be tons of new games coming out for that.Has the xbox 360 become outdated or obsolete?
Adam summed it up well.
I don't think it's outdated or obsolete, but it (and the PS3) is nearing the end of graphical improvement. They just don't have the specs to go beyond what they have right now. But the graphics they have no are very very good and there's not much room to improve... Games made specifically for PC (Battlefield 3) will show what the best of the best can run, but the hardware is too expensive to be able to cram it all into a console and be sold to regular people. So it comes down to a give and take with price and performance.
This is why they are releasing things like the Kinect and PSMove, they REALLY don't want to make new consoles right now, they generally lose money on console sales and make up for it through licenses, dev kits, and accessories sales. They know there isn't much room to improve with current technology.Has the xbox 360 become outdated or obsolete?
Still buy one. Just cause they said that doesn't make it any less worth a buy. Everything has its limit. The 360 is still being made %26amp; sold so it can't be outdated or obsolete. It is expected to go on until 2014.
They were talking about video games in general, not just the Xbox 360. They're not saying that the Xbox can't process better graphics, it's just that now it's very expensive for companies to make games that look much better, and graphical enhancement has plateaued.
The Xbox 360 has not become obsolete. If they do come out with a new system in the future, it won't be for a while, so you'll get your money's worth if you buy it today.
